About Walkies
For eight years, I’ve built Walkies alongside pet sitters, listening to their feedback and turning their day-to-day experience into software for pet care businesses of every size.
Hi, I’m Rob. I founded Walkies in 2018 because I wanted to know more about what my family’s Dalmatians, Daisy and Gatsby, got up to with our dog walker. Daisy was a reserved rescue who preferred to keep to herself. She has sadly since passed away, but she remains an important part of why Walkies exists. Gatsby is boisterous, full of energy, and usually up to no good. I wanted a simple way to follow their day and stay in touch with our walker without asking for constant updates.
That idea came from knowing how much trust sits on both sides of pet care. As an owner, handing over a pet you love can feel daunting. As a sitter, being given that responsibility matters. Every pet is different, from Pugs who prefer a gentle stroll to Retrievers who head straight for every puddle. Walkies began as a way to keep sitters and pet parents on the same page with clear updates, photos, and simple walk reports.
From the beginning, I have built Walkies by listening to pet sitters. I started by speaking with local dog walkers, then opened the conversation to online communities. Their ideas and day-to-day experience have shaped what I build, and they still do. I want Walkies to feel clear and quick to use while you are working, so you can keep clients informed without taking attention away from the pets in your care.
Over the past eight years, that collaboration has helped Walkies grow from a simple walk report into software that supports pet care businesses of every size. I am proud to hear that it saves sitters time and gives pet parents peace of mind, whether they are checking a GPS route, looking through photos from a visit, or simply seeing that everything went smoothly.
Walkies is not only for dogs. Pet sitters care for animals of every kind, including cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles, and more. I want Walkies to support that work and help every pet parent feel informed, connected, and reassured.
